One process. Every window.
Diagnosis, old seal out, Q-Lon fitted, check. One sash about half an hour. The window stays in place, the glass unit stays in.
We check where it draughts
We look over the whole window and say honestly whether a seal swap or adjustment will help.
We remove the old seal
The old, hardened rubber seal comes out fully and the profile is cleaned.
We fit the Q-Lon seal
German Schlegel polyurethane seal is laid evenly around the whole frame.
The window is airtight
It closes evenly, the draught is gone. You feel the difference on the first close.
We don't start with a sale, we start with an inspection.
Every job starts with a thorough check. First we see what the real problem is, and only then propose a fix. Often it's smaller and cheaper than it first seems.
Seal condition
Whether the seal is hard, sunk, cracked or slipped out of its groove.
Closing pressure
Whether the window closes evenly against the frame in every corner.
Hardware and lock
Whether the handle and lock pull the window fully shut or need adjusting.
Glass unit and frame
Whether the problem is in the glass, frame or fitting joint, not the seal.
Schlegel Q-Lon. German polyurethane.
We use German Schlegel Q-Lon polyurethane seals. Unlike ordinary rubber, Q-Lon doesn't harden in the cold, springs back to shape and stays elastic for years. That's why the draught goes even from old windows.
