Smart film for an existing partition
Already have a glazed meeting room? We start by checking the glass. Self-adhesive PDLC film can add switchable privacy to suitable panes without replacing them. The plan covers film dimensions, edge protection and connections, including a suitable moving cable arrangement for glass doors.
Smart glass for a new office
For a new partition or replacement glazing, consider PDLC laminated between glass layers. Glass dimensions, framing and wiring can then be planned together with the room. The choice depends on the construction and conditions of use, not appearance alone.
Smart film and smart glass installation cost
A smart film price per square metre is only part of the installed system cost. The quote accounts for each pane's dimensions, the number of panes, film or laminated glass, installation, the power supply and controls. Self-adhesive PDLC film can be applied to suitable smooth glass. We first check the condition, dimensions, edge protection and connection options. Not every pane or location is suitable.
PDLC scatters light rather than blacking out the room. Silhouettes close to the glass may remain visible in some lighting conditions. We assess the privacy requirement for the actual space.
Yes. It needs a compatible power supply and controls. Conventional PDLC becomes frosted when power is off, but the selected product's behaviour must be confirmed before ordering. A qualified specialist handles the electrical connection.
Privacy PDLC is not automatically a substitute for solar control film. If heat reduction is also required, a suitable solution must be selected and checked for that purpose.
Ordinary frosted privacy film stays frosted. PDLC smart film changes state using electrical control. If you never need a clear view through the glass, first consider whether a switchable system is necessary.

Smart film provides visual privacy, not soundproofing. How much conversation can be heard depends on the partition, door and room construction and must be assessed separately.
